A stark contrast in reactions captured on camera; sincere humanitarian emotions and tearful solidarity with Gaza’s victims, set against celebrations and dancing by Israeli supporters. Two scenes in one frame raising profound questions about the humanitarian motives of each side. pic.twitter.com/3j3aMYk6XI

Palestinian Land Day is a national Palestinian occasion observed every year on March 30. Its origins go back to 1976, when Israeli authorities announced the confiscation of large areas of Palestinian land inside the 1948 territories, particularly in the Galilee, the Triangle, and the Negev. At that time, people took to the streets in mass protests and a general strike in response to the decision. The crackdown that followed resulted in the killing of six Palestinians and the injury of dozens. Since then, Land Day has become a symbol of steadfastness and attachment to land and identity. It is commemorated wherever Palestinians are present, through events, marches, cultural exhibitions, and visits to lands threatened with confiscation. In short… it is a day that unites everyone around one idea: land is not just soil—it is belonging, dignity, and collective memory.
