On Tuesday evening, 27 January 2026, cousins Muhammad Nasrallah, 17, and Hassan Nasrallah, 18, were walking home along a dirt path in the West Bank town of a-Dhahiriyah. Muhammad started climbing over a low stone wall to get to the road home when suddenly, soldiers hiding among olive trees across the road opened fire at him. He was shot in the abdomen and fell. Hassan was trying to help his injured cousin when he saw a soldier aiming his rifle at him. He tried to run away, but the soldiers fired about eight shots at him, wounding him in the leg. When a Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance arrived, the soldiers aimed their guns at the paramedics, ordered them to turn off the siren, and refused to help lift the stretcher over the wall. Only after a prolonged delay was Muhammad taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Since October 2023, Israel has killed at least 1050 Palestinians in the West Bank.
