Lebanese journalists continue reporting despite Israeli threats and killings

Lebanese journalists continue to report from the ground despite Israeli threats and the repeated targeting of press workers. Following the assassination of journalists Ali Shoeib, Fatima Ftouni, and Mohammad Ftouni while on assignment, [comra] spoke with Lebanese journalist Hasan Atieh about the situation on the ground. "We will keep fighting the Israeli occupation with our voices and our cameras," Atieh said, adding that this was "the will of Fatima, Ali, and all the journalists killed by Israeli attacks." Israeli forces have been held responsible for two-thirds of all press killings recorded in 2024 and 2025 — more targeted killings of journalists than any other military since the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) began tracking such deaths. According to the CPJ, over 256 journalists and media workers have been killed by Israeli forces in the region since October 2023.
